Dove Hunting





Huntmasters Of Texas, Inc. offers Mourning and White-winged Dove hunting in both the Central and South Zones of Texas.

Central Zone hunting is conducted in the "Dove Capital of Texas", Uvalde County, just north of Sabinal.  This puts the hunts within 1˝ hours of San Antonio in the Central Zone   With two creeks and multiple water tanks throughout the ranch to attract and maintain dove populations, this ranch is sure to hold large quantities of both types of doves and be a flight path for birds moving through.  Here you will hunt among abundant sunflowers and other dove attractants, surrounded by grain fields.  Creeks with giant oak trees provide shade and cover for the hunters, and rest stops for the doves.

Day leases, package and corporate hunts are available on this ranch.

South Zone hunting is conducted just 20 minutes west of San Antonio in Medina County in the Special White-winged Dove Area.  It generally starts September 2nd at noon (date subject to Texas Parks and Wildlife final approval).  The hunting area here is farmland and cattle pastures on or near the Medina River.  This area is generally a flyway for the birds due to the giant cypress trees, abundant water, gravel pits where the doves fill their craws, and the surrounding grain fields and pecan trees.  Recent years have seen heavy roosting of doves in nearby La Coste.  Fishing in the river is encouraged.

Package Hunts

 

Central Zone only– 3 day/ 2night package hunts are available with a minimum of 8-10 hunters.  $500 per hunter. Call for availability. This hunt will include meals, two nights lodging on the ranch.  Exotic hunts can also be added for a fee during this hunt.  See “Rates” for details.

 

Corporate Hunts

 

Central Zone - Corporate hunts are available to accommodate up to 100 or more of your clientele at our Sabinal Ranch in Uvalde County.  While at this game ranch you may see native and exotic game, while the dozen or so tanks provide water to attract the birds.

South Zone – Special White-Winged Dove Area – Corporate hunts at our Medina County farms near La Coste can accommodate up to 25 or more clientele.
